  venisonbanner A Venison Butcher Demonstration, Tasting Menu, and Beer Pairing Fresh Fork Market started working with local deer farmers almost a year ago to start processing local, farm raised venison.  Along the way we ran into numerous hiccups, including timing (for when deer are available) and particularly processing requirements.  For processing purposes, the state of Ohio considers whitetail deer to be "exotic."  This required some special training and a license for the butcher. Clark and his friend Stephanie (also a Fresh Fork subscriber) will be walking in the Breast Cancer 3Day event here in Cleveland in August. Friday was the first of our Fresh Fork Market Happy Hour events.  It was held on Friday, at the Tremont Tap House. We enjoyed seeing out customers in a low key environment, as well as meeting new people.  We unveiled our new Fresh Fork Market t-shirts, debuted our new videos, and just caught up with people.  It was a great way to just get to know some of you better. NE Ohio Winery Tour!

Fun Fun Fun. Thanks to those who came on the winery tour. In our adventures, we proved that some Ohio wines can go toe to toe with the best in the world. Oh, and we had fun discovering that! Here are photos of the vineyards at South River Vineryards in Geneva. On this property they had reconstructed an 1892 church that they moved from Shalersville.
